When I was five, I remember my mom reading to me. She took me on adventures with talking mice that made up their own stories (Aunt Isabel Tells a Good One), baby blue cats that said no (The Baby Blue Cat Who Said No), to increasingly larger animals all trying fit into a mitten (The Mitten).
From that time on, I was hooked. I would just stare at the pages, fascinated, wanting to do the same as all those authors before me. These children’s books started me on my journey, but Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone inspired me to become a fantasy writer.
At the age of sixteen, I started writing my first draft of a book called The Dragon Tamer. Over the years, it has evolved into Silver Rose, a story about sixteen-year-old Penelope Bogg, who discovers who her friends and foes are, fights for good versus evil, and accepts who she truly is.
I have a B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Redlands in California. I live with my family in the Southern California desert. When I’m not writing, you can usually find me reading, hiking in the desert, or wrangling cats.
I now have the opportunity to share my joy of reading with all of you. I hope my words inspire you to follow your dreams, or at the very least, I hope you are entertained by the world I have created in Silver Rose, the start of an exciting new series.
